The Lailenpi airstrip construction reached 93% completion by the end of March 2021. 

MAF is committed to completing the airstrip construction and commencing flight operations when the conditions permit to enhance transportation links between urban and rural areas in the nation.

MAF seeks to serve isolated communities in Myanmar through:

Helping achieve national plans and goals for increasing rural infrastructure by assisting with re-opening airfields or constructing new airstrips, and supporting the Department of Civil Aviation (Ministry of Transport and Communication).

Advocating on behalf of vulnerable communities and related aid agencies to facilitate air access into hard-to-reach isolated areas.

Developing a future flight operation to coordinate and assist with aviation support for community development, in times of crisis or national disaster, and provision of a medical evacuation service.
